Submission to the Home Office on Safe and Legal Routes
RAMP’s four parliamentary Principals sent a joint submission to the Home Office on 9th February 2020, as part of the Department’s planned review of the safe and legal routes that people requiring protection from war and persecution can use to travel to the UK.
This submission was created following a consultation process where the Parliamentarians listened to views and proposals from a range of around 20 NGOs, think tanks and academics. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to engage in this process and we are extremely grateful for all of the input received.
This document is a short summary of the ideas around which there was strongest consensus amongst the different parliamentarians. Whilst not every idea submitted has been reflected in the submission to the Home Office, parliamentarians will draw on the wider content submitted in different ways over the coming weeks and months as they engage with the Home Office and with other colleagues in Parliament.
