Welcoming Laura Taylor as RAMP’s new Director

“I am delighted to be joining the team at RAMP. This crucial period, as the UK transitions out of the European Union and starts to recover from the impacts of COVID-19, presents both opportunities and challenges for refugee, asylum and migration policy. Refugees and migrants are often some of the most marginalised and vulnerable members of our society but also have a huge contribution to make - as the response to the current pandemic has demonstrated so clearly.  I have seen how effective cross-party and cross-sector initiatives can be in countering polarisation and building consensus and I am looking forward to working with a great team of advisers, Principals and board members, along with a wide range of other politicians, businesses and civil society groups, to help re-imagine a world-class migration system for a successful and integrated Britain.”

Laura joins RAMP with twenty years of experience of policy and advocacy work in both the private and voluntary sectors. She has been involved in delivering some of the biggest coalition campaigns over recent years, from Make Poverty History to the Climate Coalition. As well as advising corporate clients and working for international development NGOs Christian Aid and Tearfund, she has also served as a trustee for smaller organisations, supporting them with fundraising, strategy development and human resourcing issues.
